Find My Faith – Week 2

In a world that feels lost, we need a map.  We need direction.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Finding your faith isn’t about finding religion but following a Savior.

Exodus 13:21-22 NLT – The Lord went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. 22 And the Lord did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people.

Numbers 9:20-23 NLT – Sometimes the cloud would stay over the Tabernacle for only a few days, so the people would stay for only a few days, as the Lord commanded. Then at the Lord’s command they would break camp and move on. 21 Sometimes the cloud stayed only overnight and lifted the next morning. But day or night, when the cloud lifted, the people broke camp and moved on.22 Whether the cloud stayed above the Tabernacle for two days, a month, or a year, the people of Israel stayed in camp and did not move on. But as soon as it lifted, they broke camp and moved on. 23 So they camped or traveled at the Lord’s command, and they did whatever the Lord told them through Moses.

Romans 15:13 NLT – I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The source of hope is God!  He can fill you with joy & peace.  How?  When you trust in Him.

If we’re going to find and strengthen our faith it requires steps of trust.

How does God make our paths straight?

  1. God finds us.
  2. God guides us.
  3. God steadies us.
  4. God reroutes us.

God will lovingly reroute you in real time.  We are called to follow.

Isaiah 30:21 – Your own ears will hear him.  Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.

Next Steps:

  1. Trust the Navigator
  2. Take the turn-by-turn navigation
  3. Rest in His reroutes
  4. Follow His map

Exodus 40:36-38 NLT – Now whenever the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out on their journey, following it. 37 But if the cloud did not rise, they remained where they were until it lifted. 38 The cloud of the Lord hovered over the Tabernacle during the day, and at night fire glowed inside the cloud so the whole family of Israel could see it. This continued throughout all their journeys.
