Find My Faith – Week 3

Lost, distracted, or overwhelmed? Jesus says His sheep know His voice and nothing can snatch them from His hand. Come discover how to hear, follow, and rest in the Shepherd’s call.

Big Idea

Our faith is lived out when we recognize, respond to, and rest in the voice of the Shepherd.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, 29 for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. 30 The Father and I are one. John 10:27-30

Living Out Your Faith Means

1. Recognizing the Voice of God

27 My sheep listen to my voice. John 10:27

Why We Don’t Hear His Voice

  • Noise of the world
  • Unconfessed sin
  • Lack of stillness
  • Selective hearing

Practical Listening Steps

  • Daily Scripture
  • Quiet Prayer
  • Worship
  • Journaling
  • Community

2. Responding to and Following God

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

18 One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. 19 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” 20 And they left their nets at once and followed him.

21 A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too. 22 They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.Matthew 4:18–22

Reasons We are Slow to Follow

  • Selfish desires
  • Lack of trust
  • Distractions of the world

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

23 For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you.[f] Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.
