Red Flags – Week 2
1.Unresolved Conflict: Divides Relationships
Ephesians 4:26 And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
What should we do when we notice that a conflict is starting to divide?
- Address it. Don’t wait for it to get worse.
- Speak in love. Don’t speak out of anger. Unresolved Conflict: Disrupts Your Connection with God
Matthew 5: 23 “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.
Worship isn’t just about what we do for God, it’s also about how we live with others.
2. Unresolved Conflict: Steals Your Peace
Hebrews 12: 15 Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.
You know that unresolved conflict is stealing your peace when:
- It makes you replay the situation over and over in your mind.
- It keeps you angry, hurt, or frustrated, sometimes for months or years.
- It spreads to other relationships.
