Winning the Battle in Your Mind – Week 4
IDENTITY
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2
The tongue has the power of life and death and those who love it will eat it’s fruit. Proverbs 18:21
Your true identity starts with who made you, not who marked you.
To live in your true identity, you need to know:
1. You are not who others say you are.
2. You aren’t what you’ve come to believe about yourself.
A relationship always trumps reputation.
Rahab’s relationship trumped her reputation. She was not who others said she was.
Gideon wasn’t what he had come to believe about himself.
To live in your true identity, you need to know:
- You are not who others say you are.
- You aren’t what you’ve come to believe about yourself.
- You are who God says you are.
Who does God say we are? Look in the Bible to see what God says about you.
How did the disciple John live in his true identity as “the one Jesus loved”?

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Isaiah 49:16
