12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.Colossians 3:12-14

 

What does the new life look like?

 

 

  •  We put on the love of Christ 

 

 

 

                        Begin by recognizing three truths about yourself.

 

 

        Then make a daily choice to act out your faith

Forgiveness means…

·      I don’t bring up the matter with the person I’ve forgiven.

·      I don’t gossip about it to other people

·      I do not remind myself of what has been forgiven!

 

 

  •    We’re ruled by the peace of Christ 

 

 

 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.Colossians 3:15

 

  

 

3 essentials for peace:

 

  1. We are members of one body 

 

  1. We have God’s calling in our lives – God’s direction in our lives is a call 

 

  1. Be thankful 

 

3. We are filled with the message of Christ 

 

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.Colossians 3:16

 

4.  We represent Jesus in all that we do 

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.Colossians 3:17

 

Whatever you do- do it in the name of Christ

 

Whatever you say- say it in the name of Christ.
