In the Presence of God

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, [Psalm 16:11]

Was the lock down a season where you pressed into the presence of the Lord – thru prayer and the word?

Or was the lock down a season, you just … felt … alone?

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, [Psalm 16:11]

Time and stress is not the main issue keeping you from the presence of the Lord.

You have not been removed from God’s presence.

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” [Zeph 3:17]

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, [1 Cor 6:19]

And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” [Matt 28:20]

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, [Eph 1:13]

[4] But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, [5] even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— [6] and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, [Ephesians 2:4-6]

For a moment, Jesus lost God’s presence – so you could have God’s presence!

How do we press into God’s presence?

1) Remember and believe the gospel that gives us God’s presence.

2) Practice God’s presence.

♦ abide (John 15:4–5)

♦ set your mind (Romans 8:5–6; Colossians 3:1–2)

♦ walk in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:16, 25)

♦ rejoice always (1 Thessalonians 5:16)

♦ pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

♦ pray together (Matthew 18:20)

♦ give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

♦ submit/offer yourself up (Galatians 5:17; Romans 12:1–2)

♦ dwell on (Philippians 4:6–8)

♦ remember God’s faithfulness and provision (Deuteronomy 8:2–3)

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, [Psalm 16:11]
