P – Proclamation – Connecting us with the death, burial and Resurrection

The reason why Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins was because he needed to make a connection with us He did this by using two elements.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body. 27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. Matthew 26:25-27

2 Elements

Bread – Represents his Broken Sinless Body

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 1 cor 11:24

The cup –  Represents his blood

25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 1 cor 11:25

E – Examine yourself – Connecting us with the body of Christ

That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. 29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ,[a] you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.1 Corinthians 11:28-29
