Battle Ready – Week 1
I’m chosen
Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. Ephesians 2:11
12 In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. Ephesians 2:12
4 things you have in Christ
- You are chosen
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:4-5
- You are valued
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. Ephesians 1:7
- You are loved
“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.”
Ephesians 1:7-8
He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” Ephesians 1:8
- You are forgiven
“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.” Ephesians 1:7
Forgiveness is permanent
But the effect and consequences of our sins are persistent
How do you go from knowing these 4 thoughts to feeling them?
2 Ways

Remind yourself of these 4 things:
- Chosen
- Valued
- Loved
- Forgiven
- You have to live like you are chosen
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, [a] a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13
