- Overcommitted – Who is driving, and who is picking up?
- Experience rich, relationally poor – They have been to theme parks and every sporting event.
- Irritated with one another.
15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Joshua 24:15
14 “So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone. Joshua 24:14
Three commitments:
1. Work on your own stuff
Healthy Families are made up of healthy people.
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Colossians 3:5
A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered. Proverbs 17:27
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. Proverbs 15:1
2. Set some boundaries around other people’s stuff.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23
3. Put God first.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33
