Ever Wonder Why? Week 1

10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.1 Peter 4:10

 

11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.1 Peter 4:11

 

Glorify – To make God look good

 

We exist to love, serve, and enjoy God in a way that allows people see to how good is He is.

Finding your purpose: 

 

  1. Your plan may not be God’s purpose.

 

21 You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21

 

17 When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 

Exodus 13:17

 

18 So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea.  Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle.

  1. Discover your why.

 

36 Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.  

Acts 13:36 NIV

 

70 He chose his servant David, calling him from the sheep pens. Psalms 78:70

 

  1. Decide to serve others.

 

45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.  Mark 10:45
