Like a Pro – Week 3

Called to Bless

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10

My life calling : To be a bi-vocational minister of Jesus

Two Reasons we work

  •  To help others
  •  To honor God

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17

But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace.

Galatians 1:15

4 benefits that happen when you shift from self to service

Serving others selflessly …

  1.   Will create joy in my life
  •   Get the focus off myself

But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God,  just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy. Philippians 2:17

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Philippians 4:4-5

  • Use my gifts to help others

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

1 Peter 4:10

  1.   Will improve my relationships

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:28

If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.

Romans 14:18

  1.   Serving will make my life meaningful

If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.  Mark 8:35

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1 Corinthians 15:58

  1.   Serving will leave a legacy

We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. Proverbs 10:7

But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, Matthew 20:26

For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.Hebrews 6:10

Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.  John 12:26
