How do we hear back from God?

 

Questions to ask ourselves before we ask God 

 

Question #1 Do I already know what He wants me to do 

 

Question # 2 Am I just looking for another opinion? 

 

Question # 3 If I hear from God will I actually do it?  

 

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  John 10:27 

 

How does God speak to us?  

 

 

  •  God speaks to us through His Word.

 

 

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.  2 Timothy 3:16-17

  •  God speaks to us through His Spirit. 

 

 

“If you love me, obey my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you John 14:15-17 

 

 

 

  •  God speaks to us through His family

Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. 2 Timothy 4:2

 

Three Reasons You Won’t Hear From God

 

 

  • You’re too busy 

 

 

 

  • You’re too distracted 

 

 

 

  • You’re not His kid

 

 

25 Jesus replied, “I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name. 26 But you don’t believe me because you are not my sheep. 

27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, John 10:25-28
