Rest – Week 3
Rest is holy!
Colossians 3:23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Rest without work is lazy. Work without rest is slavery.
Reclaiming the rhythm of rest requires:
- Setting boundaries
You can’t manage what you don’t know.
Exodus 34:21 “You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but on the seventh day you must stop working, even during the seasons of plowing and harvest.
- Refreshing yourself
- Practicing Gratitude
- Coming to Christ.
Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
- Come to Christ AND set boundaries
- Come to Christ AND refresh yourself
- Come to Christ AND practice gratitude.
You don’t just drift in a good direction. You prioritize yourself there.
